We only cruise and it’s the best vacation ever. Someone else is driving and you pick what food you want and how much. What entertainment you want or just chill. Plenty of time to talk to people if you want. It’s the best.

I once traveled with a fellow from S Africa in England. He always orderd food at Indiean restaurant as hot as possible. And would always send it back as not hot enough. He told the story of buying street food in Bangkok. Oh no! Not white man food. The vendor was amazed as he chowed down.

Having crossed the USA Canada border too many times to count…the several times I had difficulties (either way) stand out In my memories. Especially the one time I walked into the USA. I had left my car in a visitor parking space beside the bridge into Canada.

God Lord. The lunch made me so hungry !!!

I worked in India for two visits in various places you have just got to get on with it 😅 you will have so many things happen you will never get people to believe you.

actually IN India and you guessing about that greenery for sale on side of the road, asking UA-cam what it's about??? , hilarious!! would it not occur to you to actually interact with the people there and learn a little more about the amazing culture in India? Can't understand how you can spend hours just driving through a country and not interacting in any way whatsoever or even trying to. And you never eat?? All the most wonderful food in India and you never eat?? Lol.

Maybe while you're whizzing through the country, you'd might like to stop and enjoy the culture and meet people and perhaps get to experience the real India. Believe me, it will be worthwhile.

India is like that. It is a hard place to travel if you're not used to poor hygiene, that hotel was probably a place where men take sex workers. It's a hard place to live and work if you're not used to the caste system. Folks won't do anything they feel is beneath them even if it's their job. I worked with orthopedic technicians that refused to clean up after themselves. Next thing to experience is folks handing you food without gloves or tongues and then wondering why you change your mind. Taxi drivers that deliberately go the wrong way because they pretend to not know where they are going. Hardest thing I found was to keep my temper. Independent travel is the best way and I found the roads to mostly be pretty good.

You must visit the south, you will be able to appreciate the diversity of the subcontinent.

Count your blessing. India has come a long way from the days of the hippie trail i.e. driving from Kathmandu to London. Whatever you do, don't compare i.e. fire safety in the stairwell. India is a land of extremes. You will either love it or hate it. And don't take Trudi on the mountain pass to Srinigar.

There is no caravan culture in India. Only actors and rich people are using it. So it is very difficult for people from outside travelling with caravan/van. So don't blame for India if there is any inconvenience. There is lot of public transport available to travel in India, Bus/Train/Air/Private vehicle etc. Food is available everywhere at normal rate, so no need to cook on travel. YOu will get all types of Hotels in any town in India and at very cheap rate. Finally, there is no environment created for campers here in India which is available ample in Europe/USA/Canada and other countries.
